Timan Consulting LLC is a women-owned business led by Sam Miller and Jana Hucková. Our team of consultants has over 25 years experience working in developing and transitioning as well as developed economies. Timan consultants have experience in multiple industries with a focus on health care, co-operative agriculture, banking, education and training. Headquartered in Northern California and Slovakia, together we have 40 full-time consultants as well as a wide-network of subject-matter experts.
Jana Hucková - Owner, Timan LLC and General Manager and Owner, Timan s.r.o.
Jana received a degree from the Economic University in Bratislava, an MBA from the Czechoslovak Management Center/University of Pittsburgh and participated in the Humphrey Fellowship Program (Fulbright Exchange) at the University of Texas in Austin, TX. Prior to starting Timan s.r.o., Jana worked as a manager for the leading Slovak pharmaceutical company and for a Slovak government economic agency. After the 'Velvet Revolution' Jana founded Timan to provide training and consulting services to businesses in the transition from centrally planned to market-based economies helping them become more profitable and competitive in domestic and international markets. (The company name comes from the first course offered - "Time Management"). In the past few years, Jana has expanded Timan's activities to less developed countries. Timan currently has 4 offices and 40 employees.
Sam Miller - President and Owner, Timan LLC
Sam graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received her MBA from the Czechoslovak Management Center/University of Pittsburgh. She helped establish the first masters program in economics for students from Central and Eastern Europe in Prague in 1991. She also worked for Citbank in both emerging and developed markets structuring and arranging financing as well as providing advice to local and international companies. In addition to her passion for working with managers in emerging markets, she works with medical device companies in the US to develop new markets, launch new products, and provide business development training programs for physicians and staff.
