Going Green with Plastic

There is a very popular trend going on today that is called “Going Green”. This is very beneficial to the environment and cuts down waste by reusing other items that may have been thrown away otherwise. One of the largest man-made items is plastic. There are millions of things that come in plastic containers of some sort. Several households typically throw them away, but that was before they found out green ways to use plastic. There are several great projects and uses for old plastic containers.

Plastic containers can be useful when it comes to organizing different aspects of a home, office, or school. Some have used plastic containers to help hold hot soapy water when moping around the house. Or, have you ever wished there was a place to put the wet and dirty laundry rags? You can use a plastic container to hold them until laundry day. Some people like to buy storage containers to put under their bed. They could easily save money by reusing plastic containers for storage instead. Additionally, plastic containers can be washed and decorated to be used for a storage solution for a little girls’ hair clips and accessories.

As you can see, there are lots of different projects that can be accomplished through re-purposing plastic containers. There are many different things that could be made for fun out of plastic containers. There are many kids that enjoy bath time. The plastic milk jugs with holes in the bottom make for great toys in the tub. Many kids have lots of toys that need contained. The idea of corrugated plastic containers is not the prettiest idea, unless they are decorated first. This could be a fun afternoon project that the kids would enjoy and remember as they put their toys away. There are many kids with sandboxes because they love to make those towering sandcastles. There are many plastic containers like yogurt containers that would make great sandbox toys. Hopefully, now when people are going green, they will consider plastic green uses too.
